Joan (Collins) Cotter, 63 of Ash Grove, Mo. passed away Friday morning in her home.
Joan, the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Watje) Collins, was born in Lebanon Mo. on October 9, 1951. She grew up in the Springfield area, graduating from St. Agnes High School 1969. Joan was a former Ash Grove Businesswoman owning and operating Fred's Fish House on Main St. for several years. She was a member of St. Suzanne Catholic Church, Mt. Vernon. She wanted to serve and help everyone by being very active in the Ash Grove Food Pantry. Joan was a very creative person. She loved to try new activities and projects. She loved her family with all her heart wished each one of them the very best. Wanting to help each one achieve their goals.
Joan Collins and Ernest (Ernie) L, Cotter were united in marriage December 4, 1970. To this union four children were born. Together they were privileged to share over forty four years. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her loving family: husband Ernie of the home; daughter, Laura and husband Dan Davidson of Ash Grove, Mo.; three sons Eric and wife Tammy Cotter, "Little" Ernie and wife Anita Cotter all of Ash Grove and Sam and wife Sarah Cotter, of Mt. Vernon, Mo.; Eleven grandchildren; nine brothers and sisters: Mary Pat Lambert of Raytown, Mo. Collette Myers, Regina Renkoski, Ann Kenney and Therese Sorg all of Springfield, Mo. Tom Collins Overland Park, Kansas, Mike Collins of Walnut Shade, David Collins of Knob Knoster and Jim Collins of Springfield, Mo.; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in St.Suzanne Catholic Church, Mt. Vernon with Monsignor Thomas Reidy, Celebrant, interment following in John's Chapel Cemetery, South of Ash Grove under the care and direction of Wilson Brim Daniel Funeral Home, Ash Grove, Mo.
Prayer service will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the Funeral Home, Ash Grove with visitation to follow till 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials may given, in her memory, to the Ash Grove Food Pantry.
Family and friends are invited to 123 Main St. Ash Grove following the interment.
