Mary Lou Farmer, 91, of Manhattan, KS, formally of Russell,KS and Willard, MO passed away, Saturday, November 9, 2019. She was born on July 13, 1928, in Clarksdale, MS, to Charles and Sarah (Eddy) Silverblatt. On January 28, 1951, Mary Lou and Sam Farmer were united in marriage. They shared over 68 years together.
Mary Lou was a graduate of Clarksdale High School. She enjoyed attending all of her boys' school and athletic events and later in life her grandchildren's as well. She enjoyed her different bridge groups and was active in the Congregational church in Russell, KS, and Presbyterian church in Willard, MO. Mary Lou made many great memories helping Neal and Debbie at Russel Flower and Gift . She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Sam of the home; sons, Neal Farmer and wife Debbie of Manhattan, Charles Blond Farmer and wife Marlene of Washington State, Samuel Eddy Farmer of Kansas City; 7 grandsons; 1 granddaughter; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. In addition, Mary Lou had two additional AFS sons that she loved as her own. Norman Hay, Geneva, Switzerland and Hiro Saito Tokyo, Japan and their families. Also nieces, nephews other family and many wonderful friends.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Charles Eddy Silverblatt.
Visitation will be from 6:00PM-8:00PM, Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Willard Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, Willard, MO. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 11:00AM in the Willard Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in Wesley Cemetery, Willard, MO.
Memorial Donations in Mary Lou's name may be made to Willard Care to Learn and can be mailed or left at the funeral home (P.O. box 217 Ash Grove, MO 65604)
