Mary Lou Freed, 81, of Ash Grove, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.

Mary Lou was born in Springfield, MO on April 7, 1943. On December 23, 1961, Mary Lou and Ronald Freed were united in marriage and shared many wonderful years together before Ronald's passing in 2023.

Mary Lou had a difficult start in life, but she was always joyful and would make do with whatever she had. One way she spread her joy was singing hymns.  Mary Lou loved being a mom and taking care of her home. She loved when her daughter Ronna's friends would visit, and she enjoyed being in the kitchen. Mary Lou especially loved adopting older women in the community, looking after them and visiting with them. She will be fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her.

Mary Lou is survived by her daughter, Ronna Boston and Doug Sale; grandsons, Cody and Josh; other family and friends.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Bernice Claypool; husband, Ron Freed; sisters, Janice and Wanda.

Memorial services will be 1:00PM, Friday, February 7, 2025, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove, MO.
