Max E. Scott, 74, of Springfield, Mo. passed away, Friday evening December 11, 2015,
at 6:38 p.m., in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, Mo., surrounded by family.
Max, the son of Floyd H. and Frances Wheeler Scott, was born May 14, 1941, in Madrid, Nebraska. He and his family moved to Julesburg, Colorado, in 1955 and then to the Willard, Mo. area in 1959. He graduated from Willard High School in 1960, and attended S.M.S. in Springfield, Mo. He retired as Spice Plant Manager with Sara Lee Coffee and Tea after 43 years of service in the coffee and spice industry. He was an active member of the Renew United Methodist Church in Willard, Mo. He served on the Board of Trustees, Men's Club and various other positions in the Church. He served with Army Reserves for several years.
Max E. Scott and Jacqueline (Jackie) Hughes were united in marriage on March 12, 1966. To
this union two daughters were born. Together Max and Jackie were privileged to share over forty-nine years.
He is survived by his loving family: wife, Jackie of the home; two daughters, Kristin Scott of Lawrence, Kansas and Kimberly (Kim) Scott and fiancé Jamie Sparrow; and granddaughter, Kennedy Reign Sparrow; brother, Doug and wife Frankie Scott all of Ash Grove, Mo.; two sisters, Shelia and husband Jim Elliott of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Pam and husband Roy Robinson, of Ash Grove, Mo. and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Frances Scott.
Services will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Renew United Methodist Church, 304 Farmer Road, Willard, Mo. with Rev. Harold Gold officiating with
interment following in Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield, Mo. under the care and direction
of Wilson Brim Daniel Funeral Home, Ash Grove, Mo.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 15, 2015 from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. in the
funeral home Chapel in Ash Grove.
Memorial contributions may be given, in his memory, to Renew United Methodist Church
Memorial Fund.
