Meryl "Ann" Bass, of Springfield, MO passed away suddenly on June 11, 2021, at the age of 63.  She was born on December 10, 1957, at George Dimmitt Memorial Hospital in Humansville, MO to parents Everett and Genevieve Cowan.

Ann was a graduate of Dadeville High School.  She was a stay-at-home mom to her 4 children for 14 years. After her marriage ended, she became a nurse aide and a monitor tech at Cox Health, then went to nursing school and worked full time while attending classes and taking care of her 4 children.  After nursing school, she continued working as an RN on the same floor for many years.  She loved traveling with her children, grandchildren, sister and being with her family.

Ann is survived by her children Andrea Reaves, Aaron Bass, Amanda Sowell and Alex Bass and Lindsey Nelson of Springfield, MO, grandchildren Joey and Aaron Sowell, siblings Richard Coombs and wife Kristen of Springfield, Sue Cowan of Walnut Grove, Lee Cowan and wife Glenda of Walnut Grove, niece and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents Everett and Genevieve Cowan

Visitation will be from noon until service time, Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Walnut Grove. Funeral services will begin at 2:00PM at the funeral home with burial to follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Aldrich, MO.
