Michael Ray Chism, 61, of Walnut Grove died Saturday morning, September 12, 2015, in his home.
Michael, the son of Raymond and Shirley (Richter) Chism, was born January 18, 1954, in Springfield. He grew up in the Republic and Greenfield areas and graduated from Greenfield High School in 1972 and attended SMSU on a football scholarship. He resided in the Walnut Grove area for the past 30 years. He was a heavy equipment operator and had attended Oak Grove Presbyterian Church.
He married Marsha on August 9, 1985. They shared more than 30 years together. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Cody and husband Jamey of Bolivar; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorial graveside services will be Thursday, September 17, at 11:00 a.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery, with Gene Doran giving the eulogy. Inurnment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, west of Walnut Grove, under the care and direction of Wilson Brim Daniel Funeral Home.
