Mildred "Ruth" Slatten, 93, of Willard, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018.
Ruth was born on June11, 1925 to Rev. Marvin and Delma (Compton) Pringle, in Ash Grove, MO. On April 8, 1944, Ruth and Rev. Robert Slatten were united in marriage; together they shared over 49 years, before Robert's passing in 1993.
Ruth was a life-long area resident and graduated from Ash Grove High School in 1943. She had the best chocolate chip cookies around and loved baking and sharing her goodies. Ruth enjoyed being a pastor's wife and she was always supporting other pastor's wives in the area. Her faith was strong, and she loved her church and church family at Willard First Baptist. Ruth adored her family and friends and being able to spend time with them. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
Ruth is survived by her children, Elaine Sappington and husband Jim of Walnut Grove, John Slatten and wife Monica of Springfield, Debbie Lusby and husband Rev. Allen of ID; 20 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild on the way; nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Roberta Welsh; grandson, Joshua Slatten; sisters, Wilma Thorn, Evelyn Lonon, Eula Cave; and brother, Rev. Bill Pringle.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove, MO. Funeral services will be at 10:00AM, Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Ash Grove Cemetery, Ash Grove, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Bus Ministry of Willard First Baptist Church and may be left at the funeral home.
