Mildred B. (Parrish) Toalson, 92, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018.

Mildred, the daughter of David Walter and Alice Belle (Casada) Parrish, was born near Walnut Grove, MO, on April 14, 1926. Mildred and Zalma Edwin "Barney" Toalson were united in marriage on February 23, 1952. They shared over 64 years together before Barney's passing in 2016.

Mildred was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She worked as a secretary before starting her family. Raising her family was a priority and brought her much joy. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, making pies, playing the piano, and cooking. Mildred didn't think that she was a very good cook, but her family always disagreed. She enjoyed giving back to her community. She delivered Meals on Wheels with her sister and she was a long-time blood donor for Red Cross. Mildred was also very active in her church. She was secretary and treasurer of Christian Women's Fellowship as well as her Sunday School class, the Loyal Workers. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.

Mildred is survived by her son, David Toalson and wife Carolyn of OK; daughter, Gail Toalson of TX; grandson, Kent Toalson of TN; sister, Jean Hagerman of Springfield; nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Barney; and brother, Leon Parrish.

Visitation will be Friday, January 4, 2019 from 9:30AM until service time at Central Christian Church, Springfield, MO. Funeral Services will begin at 10:00AM at the church, with burial to follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Aldrich, MO.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Mildred's name to Central Christian Church, 1475 N Washington, Springfield, MO 65802 and may be left at the church or funeral home.
