Nancy Sue Melton, the daughter of George and Flo (David) Sheppard, was born Febraury 21, 1940 and passed away on Monday, January 4, 2016 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Mo. at 8:57 a.m. following an extended illness.

Nancy was born near Willard, Mo. and grew up in the area and attended Willard Schools. She a longtime resident of Springfield, Mo. She was an assembly line employee with Lily Tulip Cup Company and Zenith Corporation in Springfield, retiring after 26 years of service. Nancy was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church of Sprigfield. She was a loving and kind person snd loved collecting antiques.

Nancy Sue Sheppard and Efton L., known as (Tom) Melton were united in
marriage on July 9, 1980. Together, Tom and Nancy were privileged to
share over 20 years. Tom preceded her in death on May 2, 2001. Also,
preceding her were her parents:, George and Flo Sheppard and two brothers: Jim and Donnie.

She is survived by her loving family: sister, Erma Reed of Independence, Mo. and brother, Kenneth Dean Sheppard of North Kansas
City, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Wesley Cemetery, north of Willard, Mo. with Rev. Tom Geer officiating with interment following in Wesley Cemetery under the
care and direction of Wilson Brim Daniel Funeral Home, Ash Grove, Mo.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon till 1:30 p.m. on Saturday in the Ash Grove Chapel prior to the graveside services.
