Nancy Le Claire (McNiel) Stockton, 87, of Walnut Grove, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.

Nancy, the daughter of Sam and Maude (Clark) McNiel, was born in Walnut Grove, MO, on June 7, 1931, she was the youngest of 12 children. Nancy and Denton Stockton were united in marriage on December 4, 1949. They shared over 43 years together before Denton's passing in 1993.

Nancy was a life-long area resident. She graduated as valedictorian from Walnut Grove High School in 1949. She was saved as a young girl, witnessing throughout her life in music and song. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Walnut Grove. Nancy was active in the Walnut Grove community; she was a member of the PTA, Extension Club, and anything else where she was needed. Nancy was an avid flower gardener, reader, and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She was a very talented piano player, she used these talents playing for contests, funerals, and church. Nancy loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
Nancy is survived by her children, Jennifer Taylor and husband Bob of Hollister, Vicki Gables and husband Ed of Walnut Grove, Doug Stockton and wife Trish of St. Louis, Mindy Wildman and husband Charley of Ohio; 10 grandchildren, Amanda Clark and husband Jason, Kelly Bono, Ashley Berbereia and husband Jeremy, Derek Stockton, Chelsea Ayres and husband David, Leigha Holdeman and husband Andy, Michael Wildman, Isaac Wildman, Miranda Wildman, Jeffrey Wildman; 7 great grandchildren, Courtney Clark, Landon Clark, Parker Berbereia, Karshta Stockton, Justis Stockton, Sutton Ayres, Wesley Ayres, and 1 on the way; sisters-in-law, Margaret McNiel and Aseri McNiel; nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Denton; 4 brothers, and 7 sisters.

Visitation will be, Friday, January 18, 2019 from 10:00AM until service time at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Walnut Grove, MO. Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Greene Lawn Cemetery, Walnut Grove, MO.
