Obituary

Nathan Hunter Gold was born June 26, 1973, to Denny and Sandy (Cunningham) Gold. Nathan departed his earthly life January 19, 2020, leaving behind his family and a host of friends and coworkers. To know Nathan was to love him. He had an impish grin and the biggest heart around.

Nathan (Nath to his family; Nate or Nater to his friends) was a country boy and graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1992. When he was a young boy he loved to watch "Movin' On" and "The Dukes of Hazard." He loved racing bikes, motorcycles, go-carts, and finally dirt track stockcars. He became well known in the area for his driving skills and aggressive, never give up driving style and his #8. He will be sorely missed by his racing buddies.

Nathan loved to deer hunt and fish. He spent a lot of time at his parents' horse campground by Shell Knob and was the best "Big Green Egg" cook in the country. Nathan was employed by City Utilities and he loved his many friends there.

Nathan had several surgeries and back issues from injuries over the years which lead to severe chronic pain during the last year. This made it almost impossible to do his loved activities.

He loved his family and friends deeply. His children meant the world to him and they will miss him greatly. Words cannot express the sorrow and sense of loss his family feels. However, we have hope that he is with his loved ones in Heaven. Nathan was saved in 2009 and was a member of Evergreen Church in Willard.

Nathan is survived by his parents, Denny and Sandy Gold of Walnut Grove; maternal grandparents, Glen and Ruby Cunningham of Nixa; son, Staff Sergeant Levi Gold and Wife Lacey of Fort Mitchell, AL; daughter and number one racing buddy, Taylor Gold of Walnut Grove; brother, Jonathan Gold of Republic; special friend and ex-wife, Ginger Gold of Walnut Grove; and his beloved dog Chance. He had a host of aunts and uncles including: Dwain and Mary Jo Gold, Brenda Gold Rantz, Glenna Vanderhoof, Jean and Jim Kilburn, Allen and Connie Cunningham, Mark Newberry, Paula and Jack Reynolds, and Rev. Mark and Sandra Zimmerman. He also had several close cousins: Todd Vanderhoof, Mandy Gold Martin, Caleb Gold, Daily Gold-Swan, Zac Rantz, Ryan Cunningham, Cody Cunningham, Jessie Cunningham, and Shane and Shannon Knox.
