Nicholas Lane Cashio was born May 7, 1994 and left this earth Tuesday September 22, 2020. He is survived by his mother and father, Ginger and Scott Cashio; his siblings: Hope Shock, Halee Cashio, Maxwell Cashio and Sydnee Cashio; his brother-in-law Britt Shock and nephew Henry; his grandparents: Patricia and Jim Killingsworth and Charlotte and Russell Dawson as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who all loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents Lyle and Eulalia Beasley and Hazel Cox, his grandfather Sam Cashio Sr., his cousin Todd Cashio and his nephew Franklin Shock.
Nicholas lived a huge life in his short 26 years. He spent his school years playing every sport there was. He succeeded in them all, holding school records in Track and Field as well as being a champion power lifter. But football held his heart. Whether he was throwing down the field at quarterback or cracking heads as a defensive end there's little that made him happier than his Friday night lights. He threw discus, shot put, and hammer throw at William Jewel University before transferring to Pittsburg State in Kansas.
Nicholas gave his life to the Lord at a young age and rededicated himself at the age of 20. He never knew a stranger and loved with his whole heart. His friends and family meant more to him than anything in the world and he never let them think otherwise. Nicholas had the biggest, brightest smile and he loved to make people laugh. While he was busy making everyone smile he also battled drug addiction. His substance abuse is what ultimately took his young life. But he was far more than his addiction. He was an athlete, a brother, a son, an uncle, an iron worker. He was a man who believed he could do anything and he did so much. If you knew Nicholas well you know he was always ready to be your Superman. He was determined to succeed and in so many ways he did.
