Orville Leon Hayter 90, Ash Grove,Mo. passed away on Friday April 17, 2015 in his home of natural causes.
Orville, the son of Earl B. and Lois (Fox) Hayter, was born May 30, 1924 in Polk County near Walnut Grove, Mo. He grew up in the area and graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1943. He was a very proud, Army Veteran of World War II, serving in the infantry in the South Pacific. He was a lifelong member of the Ash Grove V.F.W. and Paul S. Killingsworh #307 American Legion Post. He retired from Mid-America Dairy after 37 years of service as a foreman in shipping and receiving dept. in 1988. He was an active member of the Ash Grove First Christian Church where he served as an elder.
Orville L. Hayter and Ruth M. Emerson were united in marriage June 28, 1947. To this union 2 sons were born. Together they were privileged to share over 67 years. He was preceded in death by his
parents and brother Raymond Hayter
He is survived by his loving family: wife, Ruth; two sons: Jerry and wife Mary Hayter of Gardnerville, Nevada and Dennis and wife Phyllis Hayter of Springfield, Mo.; five grandchildren: Daniel Hayter, Colleen and husband Justin Mermod, Karman Cook, Ben Hayter, Samantha and husband Cole Baldus; and one great grandchild, Jolie Baldus; two brothers: Gene Hayter of Junction City, Kansas and Byrle and wife Virginia Hayter of Springfield, Mo. and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in Wilson Brim Daniel Chapel, Ash Grove, Mo. with Rev. Tom Geer officiating with interment following in Ash Grove Cemetery. Military Honors under the auspices of the Missouri Military Honors Team.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 22, 2015 in the
Ash Grove Funeral Home, from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
