Ralph Edward "Ed" Cantrell, 73, of Everton, passed away in his home on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. Ed was born in Everton, MO, the son of Willis E. and Ruby (Flowers) Cantrell.
Ed had worked at the telephone company, served as a Dade County Deputy, and security safety officer at SMSU, among other things. He also was an ordained minister, and a member of First Baptist Church Everton. When Ed was not serving his community, he was a true outdoorsman. Ed enjoyed shooting guns, and fishing. Every year he looked forward to his annual fishing trip with his buddies to Canada and opening day of trout season, with his family at Bennett Springs. However, nothing compared to the time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Robert "Bob" Cantrell
Ed is survived by two sons, Randy Cantrell and his wife Deanna, of Everton, MO, Bruce Cantrell and his wife Cheryl, of Springfield, MO; one daughter, Shelley Cantrell, of Springfield, MO; five grandchildren, Andrea Feasel and her husband Kyle, Jodell Anderson, Emily Ruggles and her husband Tyler, Ryan Cantrell, Riley Cantrell; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Hershel Cantrell and his wife Marilyn, of Sedalia, MO; one sister-in-law, Junie Cantrell; the mother of his children, Bonnie King, of Everton, MO; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 PM, Friday, November 4, 2016 in the Wilson Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove. Graveside services will begin at 3:30PM, Friday, in Sinking Creek Cemetery, near Everton, MO.
