Obituary

Ray Junior Holt, son of Ray Holt and Barbara Holt, was born May 5, 1970 in Clovis, California and departed this life on December 3, 2021 at the age of 51 years 6 months and 28 days surrounded by his wife and children.

Ray was born in Clovis and raised in Strafford and Pleasant Hope, Missouri.  Ray gave his life to Jesus Christ February 9, 1991 at Elwood Full Gospel Church and was involved at the Ash Grove First Baptist Church. Ray was a long time resident of Ash Grove and was wonderful neighbor and friend.

Ray's professional career pursuits included working at the Springfield Workshop, and concluded with his employment for 26 years at PrimeSource, Inc. in Springfield, Missouri where he served as Territory Manager for NW Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas.  Ray was very proud of the impact he had over the years in the building supply sales industry and cherished the relationships he forged with his colleagues and customers.

Ray married Sherry Jones in September of 1996 and of that his first son was born, Kalen Holt.  In 2007 he was blessed with the birth of his second son, Grayson Garrett.  In 2010 he rekindled a relationship with his soul mate and love of his life, Marci Holt.  Ray and Marci were joined in eternal marriage on October 29, 2011.  Of this beautiful union Ray became the father to three girls Kylie, Kelby and Khloe.  Ray loved all his children with all he had.  The love Ray and Marci shared was clear to everyone and it was evident that they completed each other.

Ray took the most pride in being a father.  He shared the same unconditional love with both his sons and his daughters.   Ray taught his children what love should look like by example.  His love showed through with light by how he treated his wife, children, family, friends, and acquaintances with kindness, patience, understanding, and compassion.

Ray was strong-willed, had a powerful personality, and at the same time was like a loveable teddy bear.  Ray never knew a stranger and was always there to lend a helping hand for those in need.   He befriended everyone and would give them the shirt off his back if they were struggling and needed support. Ray was an organ donor and many will continue in life due to his unwavering generosity and thoughtfulness for others.  Ray had a contagious smile that lit up a room.  He was a jokester and loved to play pranks on nieces, nephews, his kids, and their friends.  Ray was loyal and protective of those he loved.  He loved them and would stand by them at all costs.

Ray loved spending time with his family.  He cherished every memory he could make with his children and grandchildren. Ray was a very good athlete and in his early adulthood, could be found on the softball field, playing 5 nights a week. He loved being on the diamond, in the dirt, with a glove on his hand.  Ray had a love for music of all genres and a remarkable knowledge of writers, musicians, and artists. He found songs from each stage of his life to represent his own experiences and loved to share that passion with Kalen, in particular.  Ray impacted the youth sports community by coaching his son Kalen in basketball, baseball, and football and his daughter Khloe, in basketball.  He took great pride in not just sharing his love of sports with his children and other youth, but used sports as a way to teach children the importance of family support, school and academic success, and respecting the game itself.  The young people he shared his passion with became a part of his extended family.  He was so proud to share stories of each of them as they all grew up and became the people they are today.  Ray enjoyed turkey and deer hunting, fishing with his children, and his brothers.  He enjoyed hustling pool, bird watching and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs.

Ray was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara, and father, Ray, sisters Debbie and Teresa Holt, and brother, Joe Quick.  He is survived by his wife Marci Holt, children Kylie Moad (Dakota Herren), Kalen Holt (Bethany Terry), Kelby McMillen (Aaron McMillen), Khloe Moad (Cody Byerly), Grayson Garrett, grandchildren Makenzee and Laynee McMillen, brothers Jimmy Holt, Alan Quick, Richter Quick, and wife, Teri, Glenn Quick and wife, Shari, Bobby Quick, sisters Alicia Quick, Teresa Jarret, and husband, Rick, Marie Dailey and husband, Kevin, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
