Richard Lee
Farnham
December 11, 1953 – March 6, 2018
Richard Lee Farnham, of Fort Worth, TX, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at the age of 64.
Richard was born on December 11, 1953 to Deward 'Al' and Geraldine (Dutton) Farnham Jr., in Fort Worth, TX. Richard attended school in Ash Grove, MO and was a Veteran of the United States Army.
On May 27, 1984, Richard and Sheila (Dowdy) were united in marriage; together they shared over 33 years.
Richard enjoyed helping others; he had a big heart, and a unique sense of humor. He was a man who liked to keep busy and had many hobbies throughout the years. He really found satisfaction and fulfillment performing service work with recovery groups and was an inspiration to many through this work. He loved to get away on family trips to the Gulf of Mexico and just relax with his feet in the sand. Above all he loved spending time with his family, especially his girls whom he spoiled. In 2006 he was blessed with granddaughter Makayla who had him wrapped around her finger from day one and after his retirement in 2009 he became her caregiver, confidant, and partner in mischief. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.
Richard is survived by his wife, Sheila of the home; two daughters, Leah Dowdy and Whitney Ash; granddaughter, Makayla Dowdy-Argueta all of TX; brother, Michael Farnham and wife Marsha of Washburn, MO; sister, Linda Brown and husband Paul of Ash Grove; mother-in-law, Linda Mallory of Willard; 8 nieces and nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be 2:00PM, Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove, Missouri, with visitation to follow the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Makayla's college fund and may be left at the funeral home.
