Ricky Dale Shuler, 66, of Walnut Grove, Missouri, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of September 22, 2020 after a valiant battle with cancer. Rick was saved at a young age at The Baptist Tabernacle and was a man of faith. His family can celebrate that he is now in Heaven.
Rick was born on September 20, 1954 in Humansville, Missouri to Velma Lee Shuler and Levon Shuler. He was married to Teresa Ann Shuler, the love of his life on February 29, 1980.
Left to cherish the memories of him are his wife, Teresa Ann Shuler; daughters, Melissa Williams and husband Scott of Aubrey, Texas and Audrey Woods and husband Eric of Denton, Texas; one grandchild, Shuler David Williams and Baby Woods on the way; mother, Velma Shuler; seven siblings, Linda and Randy Degraffenreid of Pilot Point, Texas, Judy Shuler Jenkins of Bolivar, Missouri, Shirley and Cecil Bagley of Ash Grove, Missouri, Connie and David Garrison of Springfield, Missouri, Ronnie and Marla Shuler of Billings, Missouri, Tommy and Kitsey Shuler of Walnut Grove, Missouri, and Donnie and Connie Shuler of Walnut Grove, Missouri; 37 nieces and nephews, 39 great nieces and nephews; cousins, other family and many friends.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Levon Shuler; his grandparents, Kenneth & Majorie Shuler, Jim and Nellie Hayter and one niece, Emily Shuler, and one nephew Derrick Shuler.
Rick was a true man's man. He spent his days working as a superintendent of multiple construction companies with the latest being Killian Construction. He built many large difficult projects. He was respected and admired in his field and craft.
Rick earned and loved the title of being a girls dad. He spent a lot of time with his family in his home and shop. Rick would spend hours building beautiful handcrafted furniture for his loved ones. He loved to work with wood and built the beautiful home that he and Teresa raised their family in. Rick loved to garden and can vegetables like his mom Velma Lee taught him. He loved to fish with his friends and family. Rick was the best husband, father, Papa, son, brother, and uncle. He loved his family and friends. Rick will be missed so much by so many. To know Rick was to love him.
Visitation will be from 10:30AM - 12:30PM, Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home Walnut Grove, MO. Graveside services will begin at 1:00PM, Saturday October 3, 2020 at Greenlawn Cemetery, Walnut Grove, MO. Please consider wearing a mask for loved ones.
