Obituary

Robert E. Handshy, 69, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 21, 2022, in Warsaw, Missouri. Known to anyone that knew him as Bob, he was a beloved husband, step-father, and friend. He was born on Monday, October 27, 1952, in St. Louis County, Missouri, to Orville and Dorothea (Karches) Handshy.

The youngest of five children, he is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Pamela (Stilley) of Ash Grove, Missouri and step-daughter, Amanda Davis (Joshua) Shanks and 2 step-grandchildren, Blake & Kylee Shanks of Willard, Missouri and 1 older sister Lynn (Bruce) Fischer.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Dorothea Handshy, his 2 older brothers, Arthur & Orville Jr. as well as 1 older sister, Dorothy.

Bob had many adventures in his life, from driving a big rig over the road for the rock group KISS, to learning to build computers and a successful business from the knowledge gained for the last 20 years before his retirement.  Bob loved 'living on the edge' of technology; he used to say it 'kept his motor running'.  He was often misunderstood for his passions, but once you were allowed to be a part of his (often guarded) inner circle, you knew he would go to the ends of the earth for you.

Bob will leave a vacancy in many lives, in many states, and in many countries.

Bob's final wishes were to not have a 'memorial' of any kind but would instead appreciate you joining his wife in a 'remembrance'.  To honor his wishes, it is asked of everyone that knew him to do just that.  Wherever you are, and wherever you live around the globe, we ask on May 28th, at 5pm, for you to have a drink (of your choosing) and remember the Bob you knew.
