Robert L. Harper Sr., 78 of Clever passed away August 1, 2020. Robert, the son of Orville and Thelma (Elifrits) Harper and was born in Randolph County, Iowa on March 12, 1942. On April 27, 1961 Robert and Amelia Joanne Walton were united in marriage and shared over 36 years together, before Amelia's passing in 1997. On May 3, 2009 Robert and Helen Splitt were united in marriage and shared over 11 years together.

Robert enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. He enjoyed gardening, growing roses and tomatoes and landscaping. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and travel photography. Robert was an excellent storyteller and appreciated humor. Most of all Robert adored his family and spending time with them, especially his children and grandchildren. Robert will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Robert is survived by his wife, Helen Splitt of the home; children, Robert Harper Jr. and Alice Downes of Conway, Stacy Fisher and husband Charley of Troy, Mark Harper of Clever; 9 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; sisters, Delta Alexander, Marie Snider, Helen Huckaby; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.

Robert is preceded in death by parents; wife, Amelia (Joanne) Harper; great grandson, Cooper; sister, Dorothy Colton; brothers, Adrain, Duane, Leland, Richard, Nelson, Ronald (Tuffy).

Visitation will be from 5:00PM-7:00PM, Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Battlefield Assembly of God, Battlefield, MO. Funeral services will be 2:00PM, Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at the church, with burial to follow in Ash Grove Cemetery, Ash Grove, MO.
