Roger D. Thorn, of Willard, departed this life on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at the age of 84.

He was born on November 28, 1933 to Bernard and Harriett (Stephens) Thorn, in Peoria, IL. On May 2, 1953, Roger and Wilma M. Pringle were united in marriage and cherished almost 65 years together before Wilma's passing in January 2018.

Roger graduated from Kemper Military Academy and faithfully served in the United States Army. He was a Military Police Officer and was stationed in Germany and France. After his time in the service, he was in sales for Air Shields for 17 years and owned his own business, Handy Hands, for over 20 years. Roger was an excellent craftsman and his wood working skills were exceptional. He enjoyed spending time on the water and loved to ski and fish. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Roger is survived by his loving family: sister-in-law, Ruth Slatten of Willard; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Graveside services will be Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 10:00AM at the Ash Grove Cemetery, Ash Grove, MO.

Arrangements under the direction of Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Willard First Baptist Youth Department and maybe left at the funeral home.
