Ruth Hayter, of Ash Grove, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at the age of 88.

Ruth was born on October 26, 1929 to Charles William and Lyntha (Irwin) Emerson, in Yellville, AR.  On June 2, 1947, Ruth and Orville L. Hayter were united in marriage; together they shared over 68 years before Orville's passing in 2015.

Ruth attended Phenix's one room schoolhouse and always enjoyed visiting with her classmates.  She was a member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary and the Nursing Home Auxiliary.  Ruth and Orville enjoyed traveling to Branson and attending the shows.  She also loved to sit and crochet afghans for her family.  Ruth adored her family and loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.   She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.

Ruth is survived by her loving family; two sons, Jerry Hayter and wife Mary of Nevada, Dennis Hayter and wife Phyllis of Springfield; 5 grandchildren, Daniel Hayter, Colleen Mermod, Karman Cook, Ben Hayter, Samantha Baldus and husband Cole; great grandchildren, Jackson and Jolie Baldus; 1 sister, Mary Adams and husband John; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Rosalie Richter and Emma Acuff.

Visitation will be Monday, March 19, 2018 from 6:00PM-7:30PM at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove, MO.  Graveside services will be Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 1:00PM at Ash Grove Cemetery, Ash Grove, MO.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Ash Grove Christian Church and can be left at the funeral home.
