Obituary

Scott Leland Runge, 59, of Ash Grove, formally of North Dakota, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017.

Scott the son of Ralph and Jean (Mahoney) Runge, was born in Dickinson, ND, on November 28, 1957.  Scott grew up on a ranch in The Badlands of North Dakota.  Scott was a professional horse trainer, by the early age of eight, not only was he was training horses, he was keeping the records of these horses on his own.  Scott's passion for horses allowed him to travel across the United States, showing and selling his horses.  Scott, loved being outdoors.  He enjoyed camping, fishing, shooting, and wood-working.  Scott was a talented wood-worker and could make beautiful pieces of art out of a simple piece of wood.  Scott was employed as an engineer with BNSF for almost 38 years, and was a long-time member of the local railroad union. Scott will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Scott is survived by his wife, Kelley, of the home; three children, Kevin Runge and wife Ana, Kelly Reyes and husband Eddie, Ryan Runge; one step-daughter, Brooke McCarty; six grandchildren, Andrew Runge, Haciel Reyes, Anthony Reyes, Rebecca Reyes, Abagil Reyes, Brianna Reyes; two brothers, Mryan Runge and wife Karen, Marlyn Runge; one sister, Joyce Chord; numerous other family and friends.

Graveside services will be Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 9:00 AM at Ash Grove Cemetery, Ash Grove, MO.  Services under the direction of Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove.
