Sheila Newkirk, the daughter of Edward Widman and Alice T. (Macpherson) Robinett, was born May 1, 1949 and passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017.

Sheila and James Newkirk were united in marriage on November 15, 1968. Together, Sheila and James were privileged to share over 48 years of marriage.

Sheila was a cosmetologist for 15 years before realizing her dream of being a school teacher.  At the age of 40 Sheila went back to college and graduated with a teaching degree.  She taught in the Billings School District for 18 years.  Sheila loved teaching, being outdoors, gardening, and her fish pond.  However, nothing compared to the time that she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Sheila is survived by her husband James, of the home; two daughters, Kathryn Newkirk, of Billings, Nadina Hatch and husband Brad, of Ash Grove; 5 grandchildren; one brother, George Widman of CA; father, Duane Robinett and Nancy, of Springfield; sister-in-law, Rebecca Darst, of Willard; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and many friends.

Sheila was preceded in death by her biological father and mother, and a daughter Jamie Newkirk.

Visitation will be Friday, January 20, 2017 from 5:00PM-8:00PM at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove, MO.    Burial will be held at a later date.

A memorial has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
