Skyler James Baker was born February 24, 1996 and died April 29, 2021 at the age of 25. He was born in Springfield, MO and is the son of Terry Hohensee and Jackie Baker. He is the father of Beckham Baker.

Skyler lived most of his life in Willard, MO where he attended school for most of his school years. After graduating high school he attended college at Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO where he majored in elementary education. He played as a forward on the college basketball team. After college, Skyler worked mainly with his father on the family tree service business and also as a care giver to adults with special needs.

On November 23, 2018 the love of Skyler's life arrived. Beckham James Baker was born to Skyler and Maddie McIntire at Springfield, MO. Skyler was an excellent father and took care of Beckham constantly. Beckham was shooting baskets with Skyler and was a good little player by the age of 18 months. They were a joy together. Skyler loved his family and he brought great joy into their lives.

Skyler loved basketball and his teammates. He and most of his teammates played together from grade school through high school. This group became his special lifelong friends. They were always there for each other and were very close as they all traveled into adulthood. They had a special bond that was never broken.

Skyler was preceded in death by his brother Darrell Gott, Jr.; his beloved nana, Janet Baker of Ash Grove; great-grandmother, Barbara Baker of Ash Grove; great-grandparents Melvin and Frances Pinkman of El Dorado Springs, MO; Uncle Jeff, Murfreesboro, TN.

Skyler is survived by his son, Beckham Baker and Beckham's mother, Maddie McIntire of Springfield; parents Jackie Baker of Springfield and Terry and Jennifer Hohensee, of Willard; sisters Olivia Hohensee of Willard and Samantha Gott of Republic; grandparents Rick and Carmen Baker of Greenfield, Deborah Pinegar of Springfield, Kay Lewis of Springfield, Tom and Lynn Deckard of Fair Grove; great-grandfather Jim Baker of Ash Grove. Aunts and uncles: James, Jay, Logan, Stormy, Lori, Ron, Kelli and Andy. Special friends: Cainen, Levi, Kaleb, Chris, Montana, Trayton, Z, and Mac. Skyler has a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and mentors too numerous to name.

A celebration of life will be held, by the family, at Brookline Church of Christ on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 4:00-6:00 PM. Church address: 3086 N Brookline Ave., Brookline, MO 65619. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
