Stephen "Steve" Rowan was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 28, 2016.  Stephen was born on October 23, 1957 in Springfield, MO to Clinton and Joyce Rowan.  He was saved as a young boy at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Aldrich, MO.

Stephen enjoyed being a Polk County cattleman for many years, raising angus and brangus cattle with Susan Keltner, who was truly the love of his life and soulmate.  In his daily trips from farm to farm, he always had their four-legged farmhand, "Luci," with whom he loved dearly.  For over a decade, Stephen enjoyed trail riding and attending the National Championship Chuck Wagon Races with his beloved dog, Stubbi, his daughter, Ashley, and their sidekick, Cassie Nichols.

Stephen was an owner/operator for Prime Trucking for over 33 years.  His children share many fond memories traveling with him over summer vacations.  Along with his many years at Prime, he was also recognized with several awards.  One of his most prized awards was an award for driving over 3 million safe miles.

Stephen was married to Rhonda Stirewalt in 1979, where from this union two children were born - Ashley Ann Rowan and Justin Lee Rowan.

He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Joyce Rowan.

He is survived by Susan, daughter Ashley Rowan and husband Greg, son Justin Rowan and wife Jordon, father Clinton Rowan and dear friend Alice Detherage, sister Anita Watson and husband Brent, step-sister Laura Johnson and husband Cotton, 4 grandchildren Shelby, Serene, Ryleigh, and Jaxson.

He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home in Walnut Grove, MO.  Visitation will be noon-2, with service at 2:00PM.
