Obituary

Steven "Soap" L.  Dyal, 65, of Ash Grove, passed away, Monday, October 7, 2019. He was born on January 19, 1954 in Ash Grove, MO to James Orval and Sarah Elizabeth "Liz" (Cowell) Dyal.


Steven was a 1972 Ash Grove graduate. He worked for over 25 years at Ramsey Excavating as a heavy machine operator. Steven enjoyed being outdoors, especially when he was fishing or in his garden. Steven was an excellent dutch oven cook, the crowd favorite was his peach cobbler. He also enjoyed going to garage sales with his daughter-in-law and going and betting on horse races with Ron. Steven loved watching Will play football, and later in life, watching Will coach football. Steven was known for his cow bell at the games and with each new school, there was a new cow bell that was personalized. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.


Steven is survived by his son, Will Dyal and wife Madison; sisters, Joyce Dunn and husband Jimmie, Doris Montee; nieces and nephews, Gayla Hankins and husband Jimmy, Tammy Gillaspy and husband Glendal, Alicia Floyd and husband Jarod, Sarah Mackey and husband Barry, Jason Dunn and wife Lori; numerous great nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.


Steven was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Earlene Brown.


Visitation will be from 5:00PM-7:00PM, Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove, MO. Graveside Services will begin at 3:00PM, Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Johns Chapel Cemetery, Ash Grove, MO.


In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established at OMB of Ash Grove and donations may be left at the bank or funeral home.
