Susan Ruth
Lance
February 4, 1941 – December 4, 2020
Susan Ruth (Malone) Lance of Springfield, MO was born on February 4, 1941 in Kansas City, MO and passed away, peacefully on December 4, 2020. Her husband of 54 years, Howard James Lance II, preceded her in death, as did her Mother and Father, Ruth and Ralph Malone. Susan looked forward to being reunited with them.
Susan dedicated her life to serving the Lord when she was eleven years old and spent the remainder of her life telling others about Jesus' love and salvation. She was affectionately known as the "Jesus loves you lady." She was a member of South Haven Baptist Church in Springfield, MO.
Susan was a living testimony to others, as on Thanksgiving Day in 2009, while en route to the hospital, her heart stopped beating for more than eight minutes and she was clinically dead. A stranger at a gas station and paramedics were able to resuscitate her, twice. It was a long, hard battle to recovery and she gave God the glory and honor for what she considered a miracle.
She leaves behind three beloved sons: Howard Lance III and wife Beverly of Willard, MO, Daniel Lance and wife Barbara of Ozark, MO and James Lance of Islamorada, FL. She had 8 grandchildren, Cameron Udo of Strafford, MO, Cassidy Lance of Springfield, MO, Michael de la Torre and wife Danielle of Willard, MO, John de la Torre and wife Kaylee of Grove, OK, Megan McDonnell and husband Drew of Springfield, MO, Tommy Lance and wife Dawn VanDeuren of Aurora, MO, Christian Lance of Ozark, MO, and Tiffany Gladden and husband Brett of Republic, MO. At her passing there were three great grandchildren on the way.
She will be sorely missed by her family, friends and many spiritual brother's and sister's.
Susan did not like to say goodbye because she knew that death was only temporary and she would see her loved ones, again. She would say "later loves" and remind you of what the Bible says at John 3:16 – "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
Graveside services will be at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 5234 W. Division St., Springfield, MO on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 11:00AM. Pastor Ryan Palmer will officiate.
