Virginia "Ginny" Mae Hicks, 89 of Walnut Grove, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. She was born on October 26, 1934, in Newhall, California, to Francis Joseph and Frances Elizabeth (Durant) Lee.

Virginia graduated from Grass Valley High School in 1953. She met the love of her life, Lawrence Hicks in Colusa, California and they were married on March 25, 1966, and together they moved to Missouri. Virginia retired from OACAC in 2007 after 21 years of service as a bookkeeper in their HeadStart division. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, word searches and reading. Virginia will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Hicks of the home, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence Hicks; brother, Frank Lee Jr.; sister, Bobbie Girdner; and beloved dog, Dakota.
