Vivian L. West's Obituary
Vivian L. West 69, of Ash Grove, Mo. passed away in her home on Wednesday afternoon, June 17, 2015 at 2:47 p.m. following a short illness.
Vivian,the daughter of Bobby Dean and Ida Mae(Estell) Hensley, was born in Springfield, Mo. November 24, 1945. She was a lifelong resident of the Everton and Ash Grove, Mo. areas. Vivian graduated from Everton high School in 1963. She was a homemaker and had been employed with the Ash Grove Pharmacy for 16 years. She retired from the City of Ash Grove serving as assistant City Clerk and utilities collector after 13 years of service. Vivian was very civic minded and enjoyed assisting people. In 2011 she was very honored to be chosen as the Parade Marshall for the Ash Grove Christmas Parade. She also enjoyed assisting with the Ash Grove Food Pantry. Vivian was a longtime active member of the Ash Grove Assembly of God Church, where she served as a Youth Sponsor for twenty-five years. She and her husband Bob, had attended and was welcomed into the fellowship and became members of the Center Baptist Church just this past spring.
Vivian L. Hensley and Robert E. West were united in marriage on October 5, 1968. To this union three sons were born. Together they were privileged to share over 46 years. Vivian was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Dean Hensley and two sisters, Shelia and Judy Hensley.
She is survived by her loving family: husband Bob of the home; three sons: Tim and wife Stephanie West of Fair Play, Missouri, Chris and wife Tia West, of Clinton, Mo. and Jeff and wife Rachel West of Springfield, Mo.; 6 grandchildren; her mother, Ida Mae Hensley of Ash Grove; sister, Kathy Decker of Jackson, Mo.; and brother, Greg Hensley, of Branson, Mo.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the
Center Baptist Church, Ash Grove with Rev. Don Miller and Dr. Bob Marti officiating with interment following in Ash Grove Cemetery, Ash Grove, Mo. under the care and direction of Wilson Brim Daniel Funeral Home, Ash Grove, Mo.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 -8:00p.m. Friday evening the Ash Grove Chapel.
Memorials may be given, in her memory, to the Ash Grove Food Pantry.
