Wannalea Murray, 87, of Ash Grove, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017.

Wannalea the daughter of Byrd and Flora (Sewell) Hollingsworth, was born in Ash Grove, MO, on September 14, 1930.  On December 17, 1948 Wannalea and Adrian Murray were united in marriage and to this union three daughters were born.  Wannalea and Adrian shared almost 69 wonderful years together.

Wannalea was a life-long area resident of Ash Grove.  Wannalea was a devoted homemaker while her daughters were growing up, but she loved her community and wanted to give back.  She was an EMT driver, ran the office for the Sinclair Station and worked in the fabric department in Wal-Mart for 15 years.  Wannalea was also involved with the Red Cross and donated blood every opportunity she had.  She was never afraid of hard work, and her perfect yard and car showed that.  Wannalea also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, working crossword puzzles, and reading.  Wannalea liked to keep everyone on their toes, especially Adrian.  She enjoyed changing cars and often times would do so without even letting Adrian know.  Wannalea loved to keep busy, but her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family.  She loved being with her girls, going on vacation, taking walks on the beach, and her beloved dog, Dudley-Girl who stayed by her side until the end.  She especially loved her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.

Wannalea is survived by her husband, Adrian of the home; two daughters, Marty Murray of Ash Grove, Traci Williams and husband Rick of Ash Grove; three grandsons, Scott Maslar, Jay Williams and wife Lacy, Justin Williams and wife Ronessa; three great grandchildren, McKael Maslar, Scyla Maslar, Lily Williams; great-great grandchild, Reegan; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.

Wannalea was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Marcia Murray; and brother, Kenneth Hollingsworth.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 4:00PM-6:00PM at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove, MO.  Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
