William V. Lourance, of Ash Grove, departed this life on Monday, September 24, 2018, at the age of 93.

He was born on November 12, 1924 to Edgar Lee and Blanche (Chambers) Lourance in Richwood, AR. On June 15, 1945, William and Dorothy Christy were united in marriage and cherished almost 52 years together before Dorothy's passing in April 1997.

William has been in the Ash Grove area since 1976. He faithfully served in the United States Navy during WWII. He was on the landing craft, and served as a gunner's mate, that landed the Marines at Iwo Jima. After his time in the Navy, William began his ministry which spanned over 40 years. His first church was at Hartshorn Assembly of God. William pastored churches in Pine Hill, Roby, Ash Grove, Fair Play, and Willow Springs. He served as Presbyter to the Van Buren Section and he also worked with Kids Camp, Sunday School Department and the District Council Book Store. William made cassette tapes for each of these conventions as well as the Women's Ministry Convention. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

William is survived by his children, Robert Lourance and wife Darlene of Niangua, Donna Woods and husband J.R. of West Plains, Dianna Rosenburg and husband Dean of Kansas City; 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Thelma Henry, Muriel Martin; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.

William was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy; son, Richard Lourance; sisters, Evelyn Snider and Gene Harris.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 1:00PM- until service time at the Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove, MO. Funeral services will begin at 2:00PM at the funeral home, with burial to follow in the Ash Grove Cemetery.
