Obituary

Wilma Taylor, 92, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2024.  She was born March 3, 1931 as Wilma Doris Sanford in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

She is predeceased by her loving husband, Fred Taylor, brother, James Sanford and son Brent Hemingway.

Wilma's compassionate heart and exuberant spirit will forever be treasured by her daughter Jana Dupre, stepdaughters Susan Carter and Kim Whitford, stepsons Jeff Taylor and Tim Taylor, granddaughters, Claire Carter-Smithson and Julia Carter, grandsons, Josh Hemingway and Coleson Hemingway, Ryan Taylor and Braden Taylor and greatgrandchildren, Shey Hemingway, Kinsey Hemingway, Dominic Hemingway, Waverly Taylor, Hazel Taylor, Lavender Smithson and Penelope Smithson.

Wilma and Fred had many great adventures traveling and living all over the country.  Wilma enjoyed a long rewarding career with the telephone company, Southwestern Bell, retiring after 35 years.  She was a dedicated dog lover, enjoyed sewing and was passionate about exploring her family history through genealogy.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the Ash Grove Memory Care Facility.  Their competence and compassion will never be forgotten.

Visitation will be 5:00PM-6:30PM, Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Ash Grove.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association at act.alz.org.
